This is a new one for me. Bloody lovely though. Not sure how vault city always pull these flavours together but they always work.

Chevalier and first gold ipa. Trying to get through the keg to make room for a saison. This is over 8 months in the keg and has balanced out well. Had over 350g of first gold in the boil to see what historical ipa’s were like and the longer it sat the better it got but need the keg.

Spent a couple of days in Norwich for work so popped into the Adnams shop. First up, Old Ale. Sort of mild like. Quite nice. Not totally blown over tbh. As a mild I think it would be great but I think I was expecting something else.

Strange that it’s oxidised. Not something you would normally expect from such an established brewery.

Just looked at a few online and they seem to use smoked malt and golden syrup. Not sure how close they would be but I definitely get the smoked malt. The more I drink it the better it gets. Don’t think I appreciated the complexity of it last time I had it. Very good beer.
