Had a Chimay Tripel followed by a Bath Lansdown

Might be sacrilege but never had Chimay before and it reminded me of Leffe Blonde except I prefer the Leffe

I'm no Dunkel expert but this is a decent beer. Crisp and clean but some darker malty notes. Quite happy with it.

I sort of enjoyed it, no obvious faults except to me all lager tastes like real beer with the flavour removed. I like that the label has literally all of the information you would need to clone it.

Since last post I squeezed in a Spitfire Gold which I found totally underwhelming so am now on my AG Wye Valley HPA copy which whilst not fantastic is far superior in my view.

The weather is bloody terrible here. Sat in the awning with a few vault city sours that are lovely though.
Put a leg of lamb in the caravan oven and the wife retreated to the heat so opened a love hate from vocation. It’s nice but not for me too dank I think.

Onto a first sample of my phoenix porter, same recipe as my chinook porter (award winning) except for hops obviously. Taste very different, much more traditionally English as expected, quite strong flavours, probably needs a bit more conditioning but am pretty happy with it.
