I had planned some winter sun for half term. Wife decided a new sofa and carpets were needed instead.

Had a few hours out on the mountain bike today. Finished at the pub. Couple of cask ales. I think both were green hopped. A hoppy bitter and a pale ale. Hit the spot.

Spent the day doing jobs around the house and raked up leaves , mowed the lawn preparing for the winter. House is empty, I’m all on my own and Ulster vs Munster is on the TV. A bit early for me, but I feel I deserve it. A lovely pint of Dick Dastardly Dunkel Hefeweizen.

Back on my HB Elderflower Ale tonight. Trying to drain the keg to make room for the Cream Ale I have in my FV.

So today’s the day, connected my first kegged beer up to the tap. Mangrove Jacks Single Hop Citra IPA. It’s not bad but I have been a bit eager and does need a few more days on the gas.

This one has turned out a little more bitter than I intended but the upside is that it's still vastly better than the stuff I paid £3.60 a pint for in the pub last night!

Wife is out so I have two babysitters tonight. Chinese for dinner. Unfortunately there was a 45 min wait so beers it is.

On my type B Korev (not as good as type A ) . Bit disorganised with Saturday tea as not planned so this was a look in the fridge and see what I can make. So here goes a Roast broccoli, and onion quiche with a parmesan crust and cherry tomatoes. Not my best pastry and made with left double cream and crème fraiche - so let’s hope it tastes ok .

Very last drainings of my Exmoor 'clone', care of recipes on here.
Needed filtering 'cos of yeast/ sediment from in the cask.
Obs. not as fresh and hoppy when newly created, but still satisfyingly bitter and I can still identify those Goldings I picked from over the road from me.

Diamond Pilsener still holding out, though I need to get this keg finished to make way for a White IPA about to start it's cold crash.


Cooking Ribeye steak for myself and my wife, with new potatoes, Cavolo Nero. and bottle of 'brewery conditioned' Summer Lightening to go with.

Maple glaze. A maple and coconut stout from vocation. It’s nice but not fantastic. More roast chocolate than maple. Nice coconut finish though.

Deya Hokum Stomp clone. Tastes good even though I messed up the water volume and got 27litres @ 4.7% so a whole percentage down!

This one is way better the aroma is all rum and it tastes of rum and raisin ice cream. A beauty and sessionable at only 7.4%
