I was reading that earlier (on said dodgy source). I bet they ditch it now. The Government seem to have a habit of doing things then if theirs a backlash (or outcry about something they're not doing) doing a u-turn.

Yeah, it's almost like they are trying to slip something past us.... But they wouldnt do that. Would they?

I have no idea. But the backlash will make them change there minds, similar to the herd immunity backlash and the 'not including self employed in the original payment scheme' backlash

I hope so. Both of those back lashes were absolutely correct in the face of mind bogglingly damaging policy decisions. Namely that 100s of 000s would have died in the pursuit of herd immunity and thousands of businesses and livelihoods would be destroyed if self employed people werent helped.

A U-Turn is all well and good, but it should never detract from the malevolent attitude that causes one to land on such a policy to begin with. They get no credit for being forced to rethink a ludicrous and dangerous position. And at this point, il pop those things in the form guide I mentioned before.

The bottom line is, if it werent for the conscience of certain people, Dominic Cummings would have been the driving force behind more British deaths than WW2. That's unelected, unaccountable advisor Dominic Cummings.

It's a bit mad that they thought they could do a better app than Google

That's what I could never get my head around. Our Government being right of centre lauds the private sector but then wants to create an app themselves in house in the public sector. Even though there's huge app creating companies out there :?:

It smells of kick backs and money in envelopes

When it comes to the media: "Believe non of what you hear & only half of what you see" (Richard D Hall).

I could go on & on like others but that only makes bad karma. I would like to point out a place that interesting take on things is The UKColumn.org for those seeking the truth of what the "Government" are up to.

One more time for everyone.... The decision to not go with the Google /Apple API was made by NHSX, which is headed up by a Civil Servant, not the current administration.

Now you've done it, posting facts in the thread is not on. wink...

Pesky facts, getting in the way of a good opportunity to form a pitchforked angry mob!

Im not trying to make a partisan point (thank you for point out exactly whose the decision is). My main point is, Whose ever the decision comes down to, why create your own app when there's plenty of large companies that specialise in creating apps. Isnt it a waste of time effort and money

And this comes back to why many people dont trust ANY apps whoever creates them. This is one reason I dont have a smart phone. The other reason is social media
