My latest brew, London Porter. A lot of brown malt in this one. Smokey roast coffee

Last night I had an American Amber from @dave_77

My pouring was a bit over-zealous, but the foam subsided to a just-off white finger which persisted through the glass.

Spot on amber colour that looks even better behind light. Was a touch hazy, but assume dry hopped so I don't mind that.

Aroma is a mix of C hops (pine) and some underlying soft fruit esters (can't pinpoint exactly, peach perhaps).

Flavour is resinous on the tongue, citrus, with a firm bitterness.

Moutfeel is smooth, with a dry finish. Doesn't look too fizzy in the glass, but there is a nice spritz on the tongue, which together with the hop bitterness and dry finish keep you going back for another sip.

Personally I would like a bit more malt character - not sure if you used any Munich but I think a dose or increase of that would add something.

This is a style I've been meaning to brew for some time, and this has convinced me to add the ingredients for one to my next order. Cheers, Dave.

Cheers for the comments, this is the recipe for this version. It was dry hopped but it's only just started to drop clear..I did forget to use protafloc but it did have a dose of gelatine 🤷🏻

I thought I was on track to move on to my DIPA but on the way to the bar I swerved and poured a stout. Turns out it was a good choice.

Some people might say 5pm is too early for an attack of the beer munchies. That’s not my problem, my problem is an attack of the beer munchies. A beef and horseradish banjo pre dinner/tea (being inclusive here) is helping but might not be enough….

A Belgian Pale from @dave_77. More notes later, but for now this is an amazing lawnmower beer.

Right.

Golden with good clarity. Head of foam with excellent lacing throughout.

Aroma is spicy lemongrass, not sure if this is yeast, hops, or a combination (if I had to say, I'd go for the latter).

Firm bitterness, very dry finish. A perfect beer to quench your thirst on a warm day.

This is more like Taras Boulba than de Konnick - a modern Belgian Blonde so whilst I'm not sure it would meet the style requirements for a BJCP competition (and I'm not saying that to be a dick and it may well never have been intended for a competition) it is an incredibly delicious and well-brewed beer in it's own right.

It was so nice a fly dive bombed into it.
