Iā€™ve been brewing this morning and Iā€™m now having a spot of lunch while the brew is settling before I transfer it to the fermenter. Egg & cress banjo with a Steam Brew session IPA.

nice what is the Chocolate Stout like then?
Having the stout now. Itā€™s from Thornbridge so you would expect it to be a decent beer and it is. I have had more intense flavours from other beers though - the two I posted a couple of days ago were both more flavoursome for example. But, they were also stronger and twice the price so if you demand intensely rich flavours you might prefer the others, if you like good flavours at a more reasonable cost, give it a try. Ā£1.85 at LIDL.

Just finished a very nice printable pale sent to me by @YeastFace .

I could drink pints of this beer..I think from memory it's galaxy and other Australian and NZ hops. It's not massive on the hop aroma , but it's got mango/citrus.
Flavours are more pronounced than the aroma, it's hoppy but more balanced which I like. It's got more of the mango and citrus but has a floral spice in there also. Hop flavours seemed appropriate for the body of the beer which made it very easy drinking. Had a snappy bitterness but not over the top which kept you coming back for more. Good job šŸ‘šŸ¼

I had that beer, it's restored my faith in the style. I had given up on over happy beer, that's all you see on the shelf.

Thanks @dave_77.

I was a bit disappointed in the aroma, given the heavy whirlpool and dry hop (300g) and the varietals used (Ella, Motueka, Galaxy, and Hallertauer Blanc), but agree it came through well in the flavour.

The Ella and Motueka were from TMM's lucky dip selection so were older harvests (2021 from memory) so perhaps that muted their impact.

@samale Lovely of you to say that, thank you.

We went out for a pub lunch and I was drinking ā€œFourty-ninerā€. I had ordered Tribute but it had to be taken off because it was past its best. The Fourty-niner was nice - but I was thinking about Tribute šŸ˜‰.

Home now and Iā€™m having a bottled Tribute because I feel Iā€™ve missed out!

Drinking the last of an IPA I made to propogate yeast for an American Style Barleywine. The IPA was 5kg of Golden Promise, 500g of Biscuit Malt, Vic Secret Hops for bittering and flavour, and Idaho-7 hops for flavour and aroma. Used US-05 yeast at 18C. Packaged about 24 litres at 4.6% ABV.
Looking forward to the Barleywine that's using the same ingredients at different proportions, currently sitting upon it's yeastcake.
