I had the hobgoblins ruby whilst on holiday and it was ok, had their stout on Friday and it was terrible, watery no flavour - this is why I don't buy commercial beer if I can help it

Dry Irish nitro. I added 60g of Sumatran coffee to the serving keg. Has turned out well. Next time, I will add the same amount at the end of the boil.

I concur. It's a classic. And Escape from NY is one of Carpenter's best.

Bit of a round up of my weekends drinking.
Went to London on Friday for a catch up with old work chum.
Started with a nice pale from Southwark Brewing Co , had another pale at this brewery but not sure what it was

Then went to Dean Swift and had a Hackney brewery Pale

Then went to a Bierkeller near Borough market.. pretty **** in there but pint of Munich Gold was good

Had a fantastic Modern interpretation of a Wit from Wilderness brewery/beer Rife...bloody lovely

Now onto my Saison

Having a try of my Russian imperial stout. A few months old now and getting there. Lots of roast and chocolate initially then a very smooth boozy taste that leaves a nice liquorice finish. 10.5%
Another month now before I try another.

I think that's how i would sum it up its not awful but it also doesn't have the wow factor if SWMBO didn't get me another i wouldn't miss it.
