Hi! Remember me? We went up to Norfolk for a long weekend to see family and attend the naming ceremony for a new lifeboat - absolutely awesome bit of kit. The ceremony was followed by an evening of beer, food, music and singing at the boathouse for the crew and their families (we are family to one of the team). Earlier the silly buggers were putting on a show for the public with donuts, pirouettes, high-speed reversing and tearing along & slamming on the brakes. Very impressive.

Anyway, this is a beer forum so here’s my beer, a nice pint of bitter in the evening sunshine.

That's the recipe I went for
Altbier

3.7 kg pilsner
1kg Vienna malt
300g cara Munich
20g black malt at mash out for colour

15g magnum@60mins
20g tettnang@10mins

Yeast CML Kentucky common

OG 1.045
Interesting..I actually had 1.5kg blend of Munich and Vienna with similar level of Pils.

The new Shannon boat is a great bit of kit, basically a twin engine water ski

Watching Italys Invisible Cities with Xander Armstrong and saw him drinking a beautiful looking white wine. Some of you will know I often see something and want it. We’re now drinking white wine, this one is a Sauvignon Blanc from Brancott Estate and is gorgeous- crisp, fruity, fragrant.

I had put off having this Cherry beer from Hungary.
I shouldn't have.
Really great,
First with a cold, roast pork salad then on its own as a dessert.
Especially as its BBE was 31.10.'21!
Looking forward to the other 2 from them, and 2 more from a different Brewery.
Then all the Beer52 stash will have gone.

Off on my holidays tomorrow so no better time to try @samale Biere de garde
Copper brown appearance
Nice fluffy white head
Sweet ritch malty flavour with a little hop aroma but it’s malt that dominates.
Nice and smooth beer with low Esters nice medium body not too thick and a nice creamy smooth finish. Very good carbonation. I served a bit cold but as it warmed up it developed a lot.

Never had one befor but from what I’ve read a good example.
Pic looks a bit darker that it actually was

Holiday beer kindly sent by @Benfleet Brewery . 4.8% cascade American pale
Good clarity amber/copper colour with low head but seems carbonation.
Fruity aroma, little sweetness with subtle grapefruit citrus
Flavours are fruity and grapefruit, I wouldnt say it's malty but definitely got some toffee sweetness with grapefruit hop flavours. Definitely old school APA, almost American Amber like.
Nice beer for the afternoon, getting me ready for the ⚒️ big game later
