Back onto proper beer, the humble ordinary bitter. England has a lot to thank the Zeelanders for, for the introduction of hops. I would say a lot of drinkers would have been glad to see the back of the gruit and the pocket full of Mug wort they had to carry around to bitter it.
Well, this bitter has been bittered with Target FW @ 80 C Northern Brewer @ 20 mins & EKG for the last 15 mins IBU 31 leaving a lingering bitterness at the back of the tongue. A week in the bottle so carbonation is low, not going to be very high anyway. Temperature straight off the fermenting room floor is 14.3 C, Close to being the perfect temperature.
For the time in the bottle the clarity, head retention and lacing isn't to bad.

Just checking the carbing level on a new keg. It's too young, thus it's cloudy, but this is absolutely lush. I'm loving the s-33 / CML BEòIR yeast mix. Lovely esters.

60/40 Plumage Archer / Munich

47 IBU's of EKG and Fuggles split between 60 min and 15min.

Yummy yum yum yum.

Brown and bitter split for a change from the Czech Pils I've been on. This is bottled Muntons Imperial Stout and bottled St Peters Golden Ale, works a treat. I use to have it in the pub with half of John Smiths or Thwaites and bottle of Manns cream stout. A trip down memory lane.

Almost finished a Belgian pale from @samale ...I'm pretty sure it's got Archer and Godiva hops..not sure on the yeast. Nice looking beer..
I'm a little confused about this one. The aroma is similar to the flavour. It has citrus type character but has an acidic note on the end . It's strange, it's refreshing but it's almost like a mild sour.
I did enjoy it but Im not sure if there is some sort of clash of yeast character with a hop compound..or could be a rogue yeast has joined the party .

It's got saaz and Kazbek hops. I find it very intense, to me it has like a bitter lemon. Not exactly what I was looking for. Its a simple recipe, pilsner, wheat. I used wlp550

Yes it is that sort of note you get from a lemon more puckering than normal hop bitterness. I didn't get that character from Kazbek from memory which makes me think the yeast has had some extra effect.

Lidl's Steam Beer whilst I'm waiting on my two kegs to condition. I'm terrible at planning :/ it's not a bad session ipa, but I can taste the hop extract. At least they state "hop extract" in the ingredients list. I'll get used to it...

Well now I feel like an alky as I’ve posted 2 in a row, but I’m off my food just lately so I need some calories somehow 😎🙈

My son has just told me about some scumbag West Ham footballer who kicked his cat across the room. Why would you hurt an animal? Nothing more low life than that.

It’s nice to have company, I’ve stopped posting half of what I drink because it’s all me! We had the same conversation about that footballer, good that he’s been dropped by his sponsor and that the RSPCA has removed the cats.
