So good to see this back in 500ml bottles and bottle conditioned again.
Such a revelation back in the days of very few free houses and the choice was Robinson's, Tetleys, Marston's or Boddies pubs.

Pineapple hazy. I think pineapple is a bit marmite, not really a favourite for me. It’s interesting that they have lactose and oats in the grain bill, it’s meant to replicate the mouthfeel of the juice but doesn’t have any actual juice in. As with the peach version it is a success for what it is.

Again sharing the Wadworths with my wife. It’s meant to be a winter warmer but really just a bit darker and stronger 6X.

Oh how you take me back to our student days. Mid '70s
6X then was a superb ale to my young palate, and Old Timer was a completely different, proper dark rich winter warmer.
The rarest to come across, and then only in tied houses in the country wilds was their IPA, a slightly weaker and cheaper version of 6X.

My 1978 CAMRA guide.
The ticks represent beers drunk, obs. The Wards best bitter below was and is probably my favourite beer, ever.
Summer lunchtime youth hostelling on market day in the Peak district.
With my girlfriend, who now is SWMBO'D. 💥
And a lovely thing she is too!

Coming from Sheffield I got done for underage drinking with a pint of it in my hand when 16. Probably telling the coppers that they should be looking for the Yorkshire Ripper instead of nicking the likes of us. (4 of us) didn’t help. 😂
