@dave_77 west coast IPA
This looks like a hazy pale but as soon as you taste it you know it's not. Really firm bitterness with big hits of Citra. Great colour
Nice beer 🍻

😁 Good , it travelled well. Think I have sorted the technique on the tapcooler bottle filler..those oxidised bottles I sent you last year...the filler was closed to retirement...

Despite being a bit breezy it’s such a nice day I had to have a raspberry sour in the garden :cool:

This is a blast from the past.

“Pathfinder” was brewed as an experiment using mash hopping to stave off oxidation. This particular brew was kegged in July and has now sat in the keg for the best part of seven months. I used a regular fermentation bucket, did a double dry-hop, and did no closed transfers.

I think it’s still quite fresh after all that time and you can see it doesn’t look too shabby for it’s age. The aroma *may* have faded a little? There is 300g of hops in this 19 litre batch.

I could leave it longer but honestly there is no way a hoppy IPA is going to be sitting around in my house for more than six weeks let alone six months so this is good enough for me. My verdict: mash hopping does help stave off oxidation.

One from the Landlord.

I was in a York for a weekend many years ago in the oldest pub in York, but they all are, or so they say. Anyway they had Landlord on draught and the barman recommended it, we was only going to have a couple but it was that good we stayed most of the night, but there all good just some better than others.

I’m trying very hard to be good on school nights so just a swig of a trail jar tonight. It’s the dry run of the Irish Red I’m planning to enter in LAB. Finished out at 1.012 giving an ABV 5.25, slightly over for style. Definitely maltier than the last iteration, which is what I was aiming for. Colour looks spot on, but it needs a thorough cold crash. I’m pretty happy with it all round.
