I was determined to do a dry day but the wife fancied a pineapple gin so it would have been rude to let her drink alone. Daughter picking up Indian food so should be grand for a few beers after. 🙈

I thought I'd be giving it a miss tonight anticipated by yesterday's performance.
But...even after a few home brews and 11 cans of assorted Brewdog stuff off my mate I felt totally fine this morning. Walked the dogs took Mrs Clint shopping, bought myself some fishing things...so I'm now watching the Carry On films drinking Hoegarden and contemplating an assault on the cheese mountain inside my fridge.

I think Christmas Eve was a training day with a few beers . Christmas Day 2 bottles of wine 1 750ml bottle of 10.5% stout 3 cans of 7/8% stout and other assorted beers and then Boxing Day 2 bottles of wine and 6 beers and I also woke up fine this morning but that deteriorated slowly as the alcohol wore off. Driving was out the window though as I likely would have melted the breathalyser should I have got stopped. I should be fit to drive by February

After a couple of secret santa beers I am onto my own stash and a Belgian pale

@Hazelwood Brewery impy stout, enjoying this one. Unfortunately pretty flat, no head. Aroma malty, stone fruit. Medium full bodied, black as ink. Taste, woody initially, with a stone fruit aftertaste, warming alcohol though belies its 10% abv. Overall, could do with a bit of fizz, however, a lovely beer, really enjoying it. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah , that beer is nitrogenated rather than carbonated so you get a velvety silky texture rather than a fizz on the tongue. You also have to throw it into the glass to encourage some nitrogen out of solution to form a head. It’s still nice but is visually missing something without a head on it.
