So the time as come.

Most will never get to taste it. The number 1 double ipa in the world. The 5th best beer ok the world. A beer so hard to get that you have to travel to Vermont to buy direct and then hope they have stock.

Thankfully @hoddydid the hard work for me and came back with the goods.

Lady's and gentlemen, I can confirm Heady Topper is worthy of the accolades

Jealous! 😁

But just realising I can probably get my hands on some too as my eldest lives in Virginia. Yay!

I’m for Belgium in a few weeks and hope to be as suitably spoiled. But will have to play the game and do the Christmas markets/shopping thing as we are going for the wife’s birthday.
I just park in the nearest suitable watering hole and have a kriek and bowl of cubed cheese ready when she shows up. 😉

I have learned through trial and error it’s better to accompany her around the shops etc and appear interested and nod accordingly 3 hrs a day max then said watering hole. It makes her more amenable 😁

This a user upper I made a few weeks ago now and wow this is good I mean really good, and I saved the recipe it tastes very much like pedigree but 5.2 ish, will be knocking this up again why do user uppers always turn out good, View attachment 78304
Wonderful user-uppers?
This is becoming a recurring thread in its own right.
Ain't they great?
Just enjoy all the flavours that you so like, that you bought all the ingredients for something else entirely. 🍻

At my youngest daughter’s school Christmas fair today and thought I’d have another look at the stall selling ‘Wasted Degrees’ brewing. They’ve invested in a new canning line which should mean their beer keeps a lot better. Last year all the bottles I had from them were oxidised by Christmas, so I’m trying at least one of these tonight.
This is their American pale - quite easy drinking at 3.9% bitter predominates with a light lemon grapefruit citrus throughout. Better suited to a hot day by a pool rather than cold wet November in Scotland 😄.

Hatherwood IPA which is Lidl own brand beer, anyone know who brews it? Marstons maybe?

Anyway, it claims to be “bursting with American hops”, and although I don’t get much aroma, for me it does have the lemon/grapefruit flavour it says on the label.

Not bad at all, would buy again.

No idea how much it costs but being Lidl probably £1.00-£1.50

No not what it says on the glass.
We're in Ironbridge atm.
The Coalbrookdale Inn.
The first is a Wye Valley brewery Game Changer.
Apparently an award winning Amber Ale.
I thought it paler than the photo might suggest.
Fresh and hoppy with a malty backbone with ? a delicate hint of smoked malt.
Very quaffable.

First of the day..now this Japanese Rice Lager is a new one for me.
It is very dry and refreshing. It's has very obvious aroma of botanicals and bay which isn't really my bag... thankfully the flavour isn't as strong..although after burp you can taste it🤪. Interesting, probably one of the first Duration beers I wouldn't rush to buy again personally...smells like Indian Tea
