Most will never get to taste it. The number 1 double ipa in the world. The 5th best beer ok the world. A beer so hard to get that you have to travel to Vermont to buy direct and then hope they have stock.

Thankfully @hoddydid the hard work for me and came back with the goods.

An amazing place the alchemist. I am very lucky to have visited Vermont.
 
Had to go dark next.
On opening you could forget this is nitro but would soon know it on taking your first sip. A very nice stout. Nitro certainly makes a difference.

There's a common theme on this thread....
We're home brewers. We drink (far too much( shop bought. What we do brew we can't leave alone until its "ready".
We don't brew nearly enough...

I’m getting my act together Clint. I’ve increased my brewing and I’m building up a healthy stash.
I’m enjoying a lovely Home Brew Company Full Extract Dick Dastardly Dunkel Hefeweizen. It is absolutely fantastic.

Some of my MYO Lager which I pimped. Not great. Used enough Hell Yeast and only kegged after it hadn't budged after a week.

Has been lagered a good while and decent clarity but has a very yeasty aroma (like you've just mixed the yeast into flour when making a loaf). I did a cold steep of melanoidin, carafa, and carapils. Didn't boil for long so maybe it's the raw malt?

Will give it a bit longer. Drinkable when there's nothing else in the house but wouldn't give it to guests.

Quite pleased with this. I think the grist is spot on and the beer has ended up rich, malty, quite chocolatey and very moreish!

I think I've decided I prefer my stouts more malty than hoppy though, for me the hops are a little incongruous.

Amarillo? Well chocolate and orange, that's a thing...

But Citra? I'm not sure chocolate and tropical/grapefruit/pineapple is much of a thing!

I'm very pleased with it, but next time I think I'll dial the hops back to something more traditional and English - I've some Northdown and First Gold in the freezer...

Plus I'm really tempted to add some cacao nibs as I've really enjoyed a couple of commercial chocolate stouts I've tried recently 😁👍 :beer1:
