Ruby ale and darker than preceding beers.
Also slightly sweeter with crystal malt flavours.
Perfectly appreciable ale, but just not my favourite of the evening.

I’m not normally a fan of stouts, and this Raspberry stout hasn’t convinced me otherwise.
Hmmm ash tray bitterness with raspberry but a bit light in body. I think I’ll finish the glass but I wouldn’t count in it.

Sampling the new lager, pressure fermented at 13c. Around one week from brew day and surprisingly good already. Still has some sulfur I the aroma but that will lager out in a few weeks.... If it lasts that long.

Time for another guest beer and again it’s from @Leon103 , this time a 4.5% coffee stout.

The beer poured nicely and I can see the beer is clear as I pour it. Black beer, light tan head, nice soft carbonation despite a fairly lively looking head from a hardish pour.

The aroma is smooth cold pressed coffee, some dark toffee malt and a little chocolate.

The flavour is much the same as the aroma with the addition of a little roastiness and low raisin fruit. The coffee shines through though and is very nice. Carbonation is again just right for the beer and the bitterness is also well balanced. The beer has good body and leaves just a little tackiness on my lips but the beer isn’t sweet.

Overall I think this is a well-made beer that showcases the coffee flavour without overpowering the stout and I enjoyed it very much.

My wife is having another bourbon barrel-aged Imperial stout. I’m having a Schrödinger’s cat from No Frill Joe. This is a 7% NEIPA with El Dorado and is absolutely packed with fruit flavours.
