What you think..my notes said a little malt fruity. What do you think caused it from these grains. This was a Czech amber
Possibly the 10% melanoiden, I settled using only 3-4% melanoiden at most, it always seemed quite potent too me. It's been a couple years since I have used it though. I can't imagine it's the caravienna. I think Belgian aromatic was about 10% too?

The other thing might be the late addition saaz? I wasn't sure about the hop additions in the alt, but saaz can be fruity too.

Yeah i think I went a little high.
Altbier was magnum, spalt select and Perle
 
Giving this one another shot, it's now about 30 days since it was canned. Still a bit underwhelmed with the hops, not much aroma and what is there is diesely orange juice and conan yeast. It's a very malty, sweet and has a thick coating mouth feel. There is some citrus but it's fading fast. I am enjoying this one more than the first I have to admit.
