I’m now enjoying an American Amber from @dave_77

Nicely carbonated, beautifully clear, dark copper (not quite as dark as the picture suggests). Aroma is malty and there’s a spicy biscuity element - rye? Taste is quite malty but also hoppy - not citrus, more resinous and piney. Clean finish with just a little lingering bitterness. Nice!

Cheers Dave, another nice brew. Thank you! athumb..

i had the brewdog lost lager last night (picture up there somewhere).
have a friend who's a brewdog shareholder and sent him a wee message saying i didn't think it was up to much.
he replied that it is p*sh (though i'm sure his shares haven't done too badly of late).
back on one of my kit IPAs this evening and taste buds are appreciating it.

What's CRYO
Quoting directly from yakima chief:-

CRYO HOPS is the concentrated lupulin of whole-leaf hops containing resins and aromatic oils. It is designed to provide intense hop flavor and aroma, enabling brewers to efficiently dose large quantities of alpha acids and oils without introducing astringent flavors or vegetative material.

Tiny Rebel Cwtch. It's only been in the garage for just over two weeks but I couldn't resist an early sample, and am very pleasantly surprised. Still a bit twangy and unrefined, but hey, so am I - at least the beer's got a better head.

I was inspired
I have been re-acquainting myself with a few so called strong beers on offer from Tesco at the mo. They are all fairly similar but in order of preference.
- 1698 (I've passed on the free yeast)
- King Goblin and Old Peculiar (slightly different but about the same ranking)
- Adnams Broadside (which I am drinking at the moment but won't be getting any more)
Anyone else been doing the same and if so how would you rank them, given we are all diiferent?
Thanks for the inspiration!

I will have to pick up a bottle of 1698 whne I see it.

Started off with a Duopolis from the Brewdog advent calendar. Very nice, I've had a few before and I'm sure they used to be more oaty tasting? I got a real aftertaste of porridge on the ones I've had previously

Then I had a bottle of my Sorachi Ace Red Rye IPA made with Oslo Kveik. This is an odd brew. It's changed from being horrible, to being great, and now it's lost it again.

No beer for me as I've had this annoying cold thing since Monday. You would think that with the death lurgy going around the common cold would show a bit of class and do one, but apparently not. So I've been enjoying the delight's of Aldi knock off Lemsip.

The good lady has been given some 'hard seltzer' to try. WTF is that all about? It's disgusting.

Was that the time you poured them on your breakfast?

👍🏼 No rye in that one. Columbus, Amarillo and Citra in this version.
