My wife is also pregnant and is always complaining of smells. I been brewing mine in the dishwasher. It keeps a steady temp and any smells stay sealed away.

thats cool, ive got it down to 22 and think tonight ill try getting it to 20 for the remaining 3 weeks. it seems to be able to tolerate high temps, and tbh with the weather weve been having this makes life a bit easier for me as i only use a belt on a timer.
did you throw the pellets in loose?

I did throw the pellets in loose, I had a Festival kit that I'd yet to brew which comes with a little hop strainer bag that you put over the end of the syphon so I used that when transferring it to the barrel. Usually works well but this time decided to stop syphoning with was was probably still a pint or two left so a bit annoying. Then when I came to barrel the Festival kit I couldn't find it, put it somewhere safe, so ended up syphoning that with no strainer after a few failed attempts making a strainer out of J-cloth

oh thats a shame i was gonna do the same with my razorback filter bit. ill play safe and use a muslin.
