    where's all the AG brewers gone

    economic climate with me. not the want of cheap beer but the fact that i work 6 and a half days a week and i can get a kit up and running in 20 mins, 4 days later another 20 mins into secondary with dry hopping. following week into a barrel. but one day i will get there :cheers:

    do you mean for priming? if so, then 3 ounces will do you. the kit itself doesnt require the addition of sugar

    cheap kits vs more expensive

    i did a muntons gold ipa, 2 cans and cost me £22, i also did a geordie bitter cost 6.99 at morrisons and i used the geordie beer enhancer which is spraymalt and dextrose which was £4.99 i very much preferred the cheaper one can geordie but then i did also dry hop it

    Guinness

    lovely yummy guinness. i drink it at pubs that dont have the sense to sell real ale. when they used to brew it at Park Royal in London you could really taste the difference in the 2 breweries. the Irish stuff was far superior. probably why the Park Royal Brewery was closed down years ago :cheers:

    nettle beer?

    never attempted it but, i believe we brits used nettles to make ale before we were educated in the use of hops :D and when we started using hops we started calling the brew, beer :cheers:

    picked up 4 pineapples today, just wandering if anyone had a decent recipe to make up a 5 gallon batch. i had thought of chopping them up boiling them up skins included and then fermenting the lot for a few days before removing the pineapple and transferring to demijohns thanks tim

    i have just moved mine to secondary FV. i used the sediment to start a geordie bitter off because i was told that the muntons is a far superior yeast and the geordie kit was £6.99 in my local morrisons, i am also going to dry hop it and see what happens

    1 litre bottles of lucazade, just the job.

    just found out that these bottles fit a rubber bung perfectly. ideal for making a bit extra and using for topping up when racking. :thumb: apologies if you already know and do this :)

    i started a frozen fruits wine last week using a recipe i lifted from tinternet. i used frozen fruit tubs from aldi. 1kg summer fruits 500g black forest fruits and 300g raspberries togetger with white grape juice and enough sugar to lift the og to 1090. the recipe basically said to mix it all up...

    using frozen fruits

    rhubarb wine is bubbling away nicely :D and i have just started 6 litres of mixed frozen fruits from aldi. using 2 500g frozen tubs of summer fruits, 1 500g tub of black forest fruits and 300g of frozen raspberies. its fermenting away in a bucket and smells lovely :cheers:
