Just cracked open one of my BB Irish stouts after 4 weeks in the bottle, opened with a fizz poured with a good head . I was well chuffed until I took a sip and it was sooo damn fizzy, if it would have been a lager the ammount of fizz would have been spot on but for a stout it just tastes wrong , I'm really gutted as I put a whole lot of effort into this being my first brew . I had a feeling I'd overprimed when I'd done it :( never mind onwards and upwards I know what not to do now , Admirals Reserve tommorow

or you could pour your stout into a jug pop in fridge for a while then pour into a fresh glass , that should help some

My Coopers treacle primed stout is really quite fizzy...

...I quite like it.

Please don't think bad of me... ;)

Thanks for the replies everyone I will stick it in a jug like Pittsy says and see what happens , I will just have to result to drinking pitchers of stout  still got the " tang " also may forget about this one for a few months and see if it sorts itself out.
