Question from a first-time submitter about sending entries via post. I've looked through the forum history but haven't had much luck in finding this topic addressed. What are best practices for safely protecting submissions while in transit? Is there a particular delivery service that is most attractive for price or reliability? Maybe it's as simple as wrapping a pair of 500mL bottles in bubble wrap and nestling into a small box with padding to the local post office, but would like to learn from others mistakes in case that's an example of how NOT to do it!

I have seen quite a few IPLs (India Pale Lagers) in the US, but never in the UK.

Edit: I now see that they're commonly called 'cold IPAs' here.

Royal mail seems to be the best. Wrap bottles individually and pad out the box, you should get 2 bottles under 2kgs with padding. Select small parcel, I tend to pay the little extra for tracking.

+1 to everything here. I use royal mail too. I also use PET bottles when posting - far less chance of smashing them.
