Mouthfeel, a little lighter bodied than the bjcp guide suggests I would say. More porter than stout in mouthfeel terms.
Not sure what happened when brewing it as it ended up 10 points down.
I reckon a bit more roast barley and a higher mash might improve it?
Looking at my recipe it was low on roasted barley. Thanks for the feed back. Most helpful 👍

Did you find it over carbonated?

I’ll take decent any day. Cheers.

No, I thought maybe slightly overcarbed but not a biggie for me, although that maybe made it seem a bit thinner than it was perhaps? So it over attenuated? what was your mash temp?

I'm no expert by any means but a couple of small tweaks and it would have been a good beer imo. 👍

Brewfather says 65 but my notes are at home and I’m in Polperro atm so can’t be sure.

That batch is bottle conditioned, I think I am the only person to use a lager yeast. Not sure if this has had an effect

I used lager yeast (Wyeast Bohemian) so will be interesting to see how you think it compares - assuming it ever turns up!

Unfortunately it seems Evri still have yours and @pilgrimhudd's beers. If they don't turn up in the next few days then I'll assume the worst and send some replacements.

@Donegal john Tropical Stout 7.5% ooft! Certainly can't sense the strength.

Once I actually managed to open the bottle (almost looked out my molegrips!) the release of pressure was a solid hiss. The head dissipated a little throughout the pint.

Fruity and roasty aroma. The taste was fruity too but more chocolatey.

I thoroughly enjoyed this beer - well done @Donegal john 👏

Cheers. I am enjoying drinking this and it will be polished off over Christmas

This reminds me, did you get my beer @Begbie ?

@pilgrimhudd - see post #232, which you replied to in post #238 😄

I'm getting worried that my brew didn't travel well for anyone and is rotten. No reviews yet from @SMP Brewery @Stu's Brews @samale 😟

Apologies, illness and then just generally being busy has meant I haven't had the chance to sit and properly enjoy the beers I've been sent yet. This weekend should be a better opportunity!
