in case you haven't found them, the M&S range where each is brewed by a single brewery are really good, my favourites are the Simcoe, Mosaic and Summit
 
17 deg C and cloudy here, will put a 2 litre bottle of my 5.2% homebrew in the fridge soon, leave it an hour, then tastefully sup it.
 
Clint - I thought you were much older than that, from your id pic - tell the wife I like your shirt.

Keg was clogged at first but got it out. Needs a bit more time to clear so had a kolsch instead

1kg Dark Dry Malt Extract
15g + 20g East Kent Goldings
3g Wilko Gervin yeast
4 litres of Buxton Spring water

And that's it really... what more to add?
I like you, @Gulpitdarn. You do what you damn well please and it seems to get you there and I love that. I'm drinking some crap I probably over-analysed for 3 weeks and I bet it's nowhere near as good as your beer. Actually that seems a lot like my very first extract stout and it went down really well at party with randoms tasting it. Now I know it's better than this cup of mess I'm swiggin.

I've got a couple like that. Too tight to throw them out.
The trouble is that when your mates come round, you give them the good stuff and you're left with the crap.
 
Wherry porter (partial mash). My first partial mash, and this has turned out absolutely superb. Rich, thick smooth and unctuous. Ill have to put the recipe in the 'completed recipes' forum

a dry stout..flaked barley may have had an impact somewhere...I have also tried my first kolsch it having been bottled a month and had all day in the fridge...a winner for sure...one I must hide from visitors.
 
After work beer tonight is my golden strong. The boy almost loves a malt Miller delivery as much as me, he gets to play in the box.

Popped into Cleethorpes today to sort something for my wedding next year, and was walking past one of those independent 'past best by date' food shops. Something caught my eye, and walked out with five 6-packs of Coopers Best Extra Stout for the bargain price of £20. Happy Days!

The notion of a 'best by' date for a bottle conditioned extra stout is a bit silly, and having supped a couple tonight, I can confirm they are lush.

Bonus yeast in each bottle as well! acheers.

 
Just think ..if you'd have sent (partner) to sort it out that might not have happened! I'd go back in a few days to check your instructions....like a proper future married person should.

Good point. My understanding is that
registry offices are prone to randomly exploding, so I had better return a couple of times a week to check we don't need to book somewhere else.
