Back at the cabin and a foray into my brewdog box...this is great! A bit dangerous at 8.2% though...kids think it's coke!

Decided to try a full pint of Vienna Lager that had the horrible pellicle on it when I transferred it for carbonation and conditioning.

Here's what it looked like when I transferred it ...

... and here's what it looks like when made up into a shandy with 1/3rd lemonade ...

Happy that I didn't consign it to the drain!

Just finished off a keg of Greg Hughes mild. Tastes better now at the end of the keg than when it was younger.

Filthy Phil's IPA. Just to clarify a mate called Phil asked me replicate an IPA from the Derby brewing company. After a quick read of the back of the bottle we put together a recipe heavy with hops and malt and I have to say the result is great. Mosaic and Wai-iti hops. 5.4%

"Kiss from a Rose" witbier + lychee, rosewater & lime at the Van Moll Brewery, Eindhoven.

Very refreshing and, yes, it tastes of Turkish delight ;-)

Cross Bay "Zenith",
Windsor & Eton "Canberra Autumn Ale",
and a pint of my own Brown Ale.

One happy chappy. :onechug:

McEwan's Champion. Hick. Always a lovely, if strong, drop.

I had a bottle of Champion at the weekend. Only had it once before and decided to give it another go as I know a lot of folk love it. I finished the bottle but it was a struggle at times and I'm used to drinking strong beers. I find there's a quite unpleasant biting/harsh bitterness that just seems out of place with this beer.

If you like strong Scottish ales keep an eye out for Broughton Brewery's 'Old Jock'. It's a belter.

just tried a sample of my barley wine, I'm already swaying. which will make bottling it fun :laugh8:. 330 bottles methinks.
tradition dictates I bottle with a home brew in hand so i'll need a low abv beer... ah cherry xmas will do.
