I agree, the price point that supermarkets want to sell at forces the breweries to cut back on hops etc - Brewdog have sold their souls to go down this route to maximise sales to the detriment of their beers. I haven't had an exceptional new Brewdog beer for a long time. Some of their older beers which have been reformulated to meet the price point have also gone downhill (I'm thinking of Punk, Elvis Juice and Dead Pony Club here).
Beavertown also seem to have gone down this route. Northern Monk are just about keeping their standards with some of their new supermarket IPAs (Outcast, Horde, Order of the Faith etc) but some of their weirder ideas are just pish. They also don't appear to have reworked Faith or Heathen (yet).
