Nancy Naylor Landlady, a nod to Timothy Taylor Landlord Pale Ale. 12 days in the bottle while a very nice beer the yeast is the missing link. Wouldn't it be nice to harvest yeast from all of our favourite tipples.

No, but I’ll look out for them. My local offie used to be great for beer but now it’s not. I’ve switched allegiance to Moira, I’ll have to check them out.

Rosa Blanca. I'd ignored this in Tesco before as assumed it was a Madri-style branding exercise, but it's actually a pleasantly hoppy low-strength lager made in Spain/Catalonia by Damm.

My Munich Dunkel at 202 days. No particular reason why it’s lasted so long, this is Greg Hughes recipe that’s basically German porter. It has a dominant flavour that’s sort of intense malt.

Sure people say it tastes the same no matter where you get it as it’s the same product mass produced but just has had a good marketing team behind it. So it should taste the same there as in England

I don’t know what the secret is. I’ve had a lot of poor pints in Ireland but I’ve never had great one in the UK. Tonight’s was one of the best for a long time.
