We're trying each other's beers because that's all we have in at the moment. Neither of them are ready but oh well!
Jim is having a pint of my apricot ale and I'm having a small one of his imperial stouts (feel like Mrs H)
The stout is gonna be so good in a few weeks. At the moment it has a slight sulphur note but disappears when you swirl it. Can't decide if the taste is aniseed or black treacle. He does make a bloody good stout, but don't tell him I said so!
I made a beef chilli this afternoon and like it quite spicy so use a few different chillies. One of the chillies was Habanero, I put half a dozen in and intended to take them out when the chilli was cooked. I forgot and just ate one, my stomach is now burning and I NEED a beer. My wife has decided to join Tess.
My first since getting home.
With a +ve Covid test on the Sunday.
Ischgl strikes again.
A 6% IPA by Mothership, brewed at By the Horns.
A goodun, one of my expired Beer52 stash.
BBE 22.11.22.
Quality control time, first pour of my Vienna Lager that’s heading to Lager Than Life in a months time.
Clarity not bad for only 2 weeks in keg, I’ve nailed liquid bread in my opinion. Gentle noble hop aroma as I wanted. Percieved bitterness is a bit on the high side, fingers crossed that settles.
All in all, I’m happy.
Quality control No.2, Jack’s NZ Pils which also has had 2 weeks in keg. Wow! It’s a fruit bomb on the nose and tastes amazing. I’ve high hopes for this one. Again, it needs time to improve the clarity, but I think NZ Pils is my new favourite style!
Thought I should have a beer from tap 3 as well. It’s the first appearance of ‘Chimera’ in the thread, my user upper APA brewed mid-December. It picked up a very respectable 37 points in this months comp and is dangerously drinkable.
A bog standard traditional IPA
SAISON!
My Hoppy new beer 23
And a lovely vocation impy. Not much mint but I will be picking a few up in Tesco if there are any left. Turns out that was also the order I drank them in
Cool, dry, and with that distinctive Saison flavour, perfect way to start the weekend. Saison itself is hopped with Aurora and Saaz, grain bill is mostly Pilsner with a little Cara pills and I also added honey at the end of the boil, yeast was Belle Saison. Most make another batch soon as It’s an ideal summer beer but I do think it benefits from a couple of months minimum to condition.
