SWMBO and youngest on white wine watching eurovision, so I'm on my pale ale View attachment 85562
Presumably accompanied by Perfectly Normal Beast sandwich hand made by Arthur Dent?
Now what was the question again?
Oh yes, the answer to Life the Universe and Everything.
Great name for a beer, 42 - its OG
I suspect? 🍺
The accompanying book has good advice on the cover for when home brewing -
Don't Panic!

As long as you keep those pesky pikka birds away from your boil 😁

Started tonight with a crisp Belgian, seemed appropriate for euro pop night

Now for some reason I got a 4 pack of this vocation beer. It's nice but after 1-2 440s it's hard work.

Back home , finish off with a scotch

Hi @dave_77 ,
How did you come across that bottle of Belgian beer with its great artistic label?
That label was banned in the UK in 2019/20 by the Portland Group on alcohol labelling for inciting violent behaviour!

It's available from all good bottle shops in the UK..don't have many high street bottle shops near me but definitely available on all the online suppliers.
I didn't know this label.had history with the Portman Group.

This article has good explanation about the label.

Apparently my Witbier has cleared 🤣

Coming to end of life I think now so I've thrown some orange in 😊

They can do that if left undisturbed. Hoegaarden used to (don't know if they still do) have instructions on the bottle to swirl the last couple of cm in the bottle to pick up the yeast. The yeast contributes part of the flavour

It was hazy when it went in. The husband hates belgian stuff so he won't touch it and to be fair I've made better beers 🤣

Poor Witbier left on the shelf!
My guess is that there was still yeast suspended in it when it went into the keg. Then it settled out and is in the bottom of the keg. Either that or "some other haze" 😂🤷‍♂️.

My witbier (still find it odd calling it that as it was "blanche" when I grew up) went into the fermenter today

Was out last night with friends and out again this afternoon drinking Courage Best. Home now and fancy something different - time for a Belgian.

Can you get 'RealAle' hand drawn draught Courage Best anywhere still?
In my Bristol student days it was a staple cask beer, but brewed in their own style by George's Brewery down in the docks. (Courage owned).
