I went over to a friend's this evening to play some board games. I took a few bottles over. A saison, a dubbel and a couple of bottles of IPA.

Part way through the evening, I noticed that two of the glasses of IPA were noticeably different colours. One a bit darker than the other. Not wanting to be "that guy" and start explaining/obsessing about oxidation I didn't mention it to them. A couple of minutes later I went to top up my dubbel and was surprised that the bottle was empty - even though I'd only poured half a glass. One of my philistine mates had only gone and topped up his IPA with my dubbel by mistake! 😂🤦‍♂️

A few of these while I sit in agony remembering why I don’t normally work 6 days a week ,getting too old

Nice day in the garden followed by a little run, fully deserve a beer and I'm starting with @Stu's Brews Golden Ale.

It's a belter, pretty clear, nice frothy head which thins a bit half way down. Perfectly carbonated. Nice mild lemony aroma, nicely bitter, refreshing and mildly fruity and a little peppery. Lovely, thanks for sharing.

Nitro Irish Red with Side B of LA Woman. My kids laugh at me, they don’t get that the odd pop and crackle makes music sound better.

The doors defined a 2 week holiday of mine in salthill Galway when I was in my early 20’s. Acid ,Afghan black and lots of drink accompanied by a girl from laoise that was joining the guards after the summer and wanted to experience everything before she did. Bliss.

Another belter! Piney, citrusy, almost pear drop on the nose, perfectly carbonated again. Taste fairly similar to the aroma, lovely and bitter but well balanced sweetness later. Really lovely, thanks again!

Glad to see you enjoyed them.

I'm happy with how the IPA came out, been interesting how the hop flavours have been changing over time. Initially it was really piney but over time the citrus has become more prominent and now there is a definite passion fruit note in there.

I was less happy with the Golden Ale as I felt it had lost some of the fruit punch it had last time. That being said, it's still been going down far too easily! :laugh8:

Ahh funny, I preferred the Golden Ale, though both were great. Thought the hop flavour was just right, and well balanced. I can imagine it would go down well, at 4.4% you could sink a few. Got to say im feeling your IPA and may have to go down the abv if im going to make eurovision. 😂

What were the hops for your beers?

Im going challenger and something like harlequin for the golden (though i have no idea) and Mosiac or Galaxy for sure in the WCIPA.

Our new member from mid Wales has given me a taste for the cider. A 75 of my 2001 vintage, which is only a mix of eaters, bakers and some that grow by the side of the road, and then a couple of Sandford's The General, and I'm beginning to get a grin wider than Cheshire Cat's. Good old cider. Never fails.
