Hi Tess i think whitbread gold veriety
My apologies - I shouldn't have used the acronym without explaining it.
WGV is Whitbread's Goldings Variety - see Whitbread Golding - Hopslist

"Hailed as a savior variety by growers in Kent in the 1950’s, Whitbread Golding’s resistance to Verticillium Wilt helped cement it as an industry favorite after the disease devastated Golding and Fuggle crops in the region at that time."

@Nottsbeer thank you kindly for this little treat very nice indeed. Subtle caramel and light toasted notes of brown bread nice high level of carbonation aided by my dirty glass gave a thick off white head. Extremely easy to drink and clean as it comes. wonderful control there! Would be very happy to drink a pint of this with a pretzel in hand.

Thank you muchly

You are very welcome, glad you liked it. This is still quite young, and a little thin I think. 🍻

@pilgrimhudd Belgian.

Indulgent was the first word that came to mind having this. Poured thick with a satisfying glug. Head was there for a little while but not forever.

Was so so smooth, made me think of a boozy sticky toffee pudding with the classic Belgium twang. Warm with no heat.

Another banger!

Brewing today so early beer. Thought we’d try this as never had it before. I think it’s tasteless compared to Alastair’s one 🙈🤷‍♀️

It is a bit thin that one but also quite clean. More one for the heat of summer I’d say where something clean, cold, and easy drinking goes down well.

Have a bit of a pub day today and six pints in before I start. Unfortunately the pub was mostly lagers with a pump serving something “OK” for ale drinkers. I’m now in need of an Indian take-away and something hoppy, wheaty, or Belgian. I thought I might settle on these - never had the mango wheat.

Trying another Belgian beer new to me, this is bloody lovely !
Bit of a bargain too at £3.25 for 750mm bottle, this is a style I've yet to attempt but now firmly on my to brew list.

Just had a pint of the MM AG kit ( I'm loathed to say it's a kit 😁). Really good but, for me, carbonation took a couple of months.
