Loved it, ticked all the boxes that I like in a stout

Fancy something dark. A coffee breakfast stout will do

I have been over critical of this beer, based on the strong coffee flavour. Its been well received elsewhere. Trying it now, I think it's mellowed enough for my tastebuds.

The Czech pils, still quite hazy and it's been lagering a while.

Just finishing this and it's still as enjoyable as the first sip. Could quite easily drink another. Better not, though. It's my daughter's.

Here's to a successful brew day. I was expecting this one to be sickly sweet but it's quite moresome. So much so, that I've almost finished the first pour before realising that it has lactose in it. Oh well...

Oatmeal stout coming good now. I've remarked before that no-one seems to use oatmeal in oatmeal stouts, just porridge oats and/or naked oats. This one is porridge oats and naked. So smooth, it just goes down all too easily!

Checking out one of my earliest brews (stove-top).
Lost its condition, but flavour and background hoppiness is fine.
I really must give a pint to the hop hedge owner before I finish it off.
The wine is for the fish pie and SWMBO'd preprandial tipple.

After two days of heavy rain it is good to get out into the back paddock. Grape fruit tree trimmed back and a well deserved pint, or two, the first never touched the sides. All the way with IPA, English of course.

Had a really busy couple of days so not had much chance to get on the forum. I also have my feedback from competitions to check on although I do know I didn’t get a placing with my IPAs. Anyway, back to now and I’m having a pint of Full English while I get a chicken roast on. Happy Sunday friends!

Good idea! There’s not much of the weekend left now so time for a bit of “you” time. You know you’re worth it!
