Having a violet gin and lemonade in the local. We’re out with the family, celebrating as the oldest son and DIL have got their working visas for the USA. Proud mother!

First taste, new bitter. This started off as @pilgrimhudd 's recipe, but became a bit of a Trigger's Broom. 🙂

Very early days (17 days in bottle), I usually allow at least three weeks before first taste, but because this was something new, I was curious.

Well, it says something when you've nearly drunk it before you get round to taking a pic! Quite different to most brews I've done, but there's a lovely malty flavour there which will only improve, so I'm voting this a hit.

Started off with the bottling dregs of my Robust Porter. Then on to a try of my Golden Bitter, 12 days in the bottle going to need another week or two to get some more clarity. Not for the faint hearted 75.8 IBU on the Tinseth scale 100 g of EKG @ 60 mins.

I forgot to mention last night that I got hold of some of that collaboration beer brewed by Sharps and Bluntrock. This is the beer launched on the day we came down to Cornwall. I was tempted to attend the launch but the journey down from Kent took so long we didn’t go. Anyway, the beer called Camel Trail Pale is a little disappointing for me because the flavour is dominated by pineapple. I got this one from Sharps but would have liked to also try it from Bluntrock. Another day maybe.
