Another Plumb porter tonight i think SWMBO must have bought the shelf at Sainsburys (we don't shop there often) and a TT landlord or two.

Black IPA from Siren. It’s odd to pour a beer that looks like this and get no roast character whatsoever. The aroma is fruity and the flavour is toasted malt and red berry sweetness. It’s a style I have had little experience of, but this one’s a belter.

Brecon brewery do 'Mind Bleach' a 10% imperial black ipa, thats very good. £5 for a 500ml bottle in mc arthur glen bridgend is where I get my fix. Brewdog's libertine was the first bipa i ever had and it was a revelation.

Bottling day today so first cab of the rank was the dregs of the IPA I was bottling. Decided to have a sneak preview of my Bo Pils, 13 days in the bottle, clearing nicely, carbonation low at the moment, cold conditioning in the bottle at around 14 C as the carbonation increases it is not going to be my cup of tea. But at the moment I feel the glow of the alcohol and the low carbonation, I like it. Even had a second opinion.

Couple of new beers kindly sent by @samale .
First one is a.golden ale, don't know much about this one or should I say I may have been told but I can't remember so other than I know it's 5.5%.....i know nothing..
Straw colour with good head retention and appropriate carbonation.
Aroma is bready with a honey and fruit from hops.
Low to medium body with a nice bitterness..nice and drinkable. hops give a English berry flavour with a little spice
Overall a nice drinkable golden ale. Thanks for sharing

Only seeing this Dave, I was on the lash yesterday. It is my first attempt at a golden ale, I have another in the fermenter using harlequin and godiva hop's. I also changed the yeast

Be interested to see how that hop combo works out. What yeast did you use and what are you using now?

It's been a long weekend of events.
Saturday an early start at a car club friend in Langley's 50th birthday buffet (and beer!) lunch.

The first 3 were in the modern hops style, slightly restrained from 'craft' , but more aromatic than British old school.
The Brakspears was a little sharp/medicinal.
Shame, as it was Fuggles and Goldings but did have Styrian Goldings which I have not encountered before.
Reviews of it don't mention this, so maybe a bad example.

Kegged this earlier Henry’s revenge, there is 2 or 3 litre’s left in the all rounder so thought I would sample them instead of bottling, this is a golden ale hopped with Columbus for bittering and talus for late additions first time trying talus and I like very much, can’t get over how clear it is after 7 days in the fv could be the hornindal from cml, this will be a very good beer
