I’m on Karmeliet Tripel at the moment.
An American Stout kindly sent to me by @pilgrimhudd. I’ve been sitting on this for a couple of months waiting for the hot weather to pass and it was definitely worth it.
Medium carbonation, pours with a tan head that lasted the whole pint and laced the glass. Aroma and flavour are bit of dark roasted malts. I tasted coffee and dark chocolate initially, but as it warmed up dark fruit flavours come to the fore. There’s little or no sweetness, the mouthfeel is great and the finish is dry. It’s a top brew, well balanced and perfect for my taste. Thank you for sharing it.

I need to get a stout on for the winter, I have a busy brew schedule lined upIt’s a stout off, and in the other corner @samale.
Again; great pour, lovely clarity when held to the light and a tan head lasted the whole pint. The aroma is coffee roast with a bit of dark fruit. ABV is 6%, not that you‘d know it. It’s very smooth on the palate, mouthful is soft full and round. I‘m getting more roasted character with dark fruits and possibly some yeast ester character sitting in the background. The overall balance of flavours is spot on.
Another really great stout. Whilst seemed very similar in style at first sip, the differences became more apparent the further I got into this one. Both were excellent, and thank you both brewers for a lovely end to my Sunday View attachment 74738evening
Well it looks appealing. What hops did you use?My not as bitter as I’d like Korev clone v1.1 - this is the Saflager W34/70 fermented half of a split batch that tastes noticeably different from the Omega Bock version. Not sure yet which one I prefer.

Thank you it tastes a lot better now it's carbonated properly. Magnum, Hersbrucker, and Saaz. I'm fairly sure my mistake was to use my whole Saaz hops which I think are a bit old so don't have as much alpha acids as expected. I'm going to try another split batch another time with pelleted Saaz and another couple of yeasts as it's a wee bit drier than aimed for, at 1.005 rather than 1.007Well it looks appealing. What hops did you use?
Claret, the temporary solution to all life’s problems. This one is hitting the spot perfectly.

I know it's popular but I really didn't like the Hicks when I tried it while visiting this summer, not often I try a beer that I really don't like - I get the feeling I must be missing something about it??
