I know it's popular but I really didn't like the Hicks when I tried it while visiting this summer, not often I try a beer that I really don't like - I get the feeling I must be missing something about it??

It’s the first time I’ve tried it. It was okay but I’d probably choose something else next time.

Popped in to a local farm shop selling cider, beers, spirits, and liqueurs. We bought a bit of everything but this is my haul for today.

This was a pretty disappointing haul I’m afraid. I wouldn’t recommend any of these. Now back on Verdant.

Starting to wonder if I’ve had covid and not known, as for the last 2 weeks I’ve been poorly and every beer I’ve had has tasted like ****. This is the first one that I’m enjoying.

First off was my dregs from the bottling bucket, Golden Bitter/Ale I prefer Golden Bitter as this is brewed with English hops. Golden Ale casts a wide net.

Bottling finished and an IPA bittered with Target hops, this is my last one was saving it for a comp which I missed. A really good example too, live and learn.

I’ve just tried the Hicks and thoroughly enjoyed it.

They recommend Tribute with the fish n chips. Best pint I’ve had so far.

Went to Truro today, home of Skinners Brewery. Brought back a flaggon, a few bottles, and a poly pin. Having a pint of Lushingtons from the poly pin, followed by another.

I’m disappointed with this. It tastes like it’s been sat on the shelf for ages and is super bitter too. A shame as this normally is a really good beer.
