My winter spud experiment turned out a success. Though only a small area of spuds planted got a good return, Keeping the spud wolf from the door for a couple of weeks. Will cook the forked spuds tonight and will dry out and save the others. Gardening and brewing, what better hobbies. Reaping the fruits of our labour.
My IPA, ignoring the IBU thrown up by the calculators has improved my beers enormously, a satisfying beer with a good hop presence.

While the wives check out the Walled Garden and various crafty shops at Glenarm Castle, the gents had a better idea. 5 pints of Guinness in the Bridge End Bar.

No posts from me yesterday because I was out with family on a pub crawl from mid-day. I think the best place we went to was a micro pub on Rochester High Street called Wolfe and Castle (previously the wonky shop). Great beers on tap and a great selection of cans from all the best breweries - virtually all stuff you can’t get in supermarkets. I was drinking Deya Sunshine on tap.

They also allow you to take in or order take away food, we had Mexican from across the road.

Finished the brew and brewery stuff day - this is my Tribute-lite, the one I dry hopped, it’s soft summer moreishness. I’m looking forward to trying this again with a hopstand instead next time.

One thing I’m miffed about is I broke 3 nails today with all that manual stuff. I am always so envious of those with lovely long nails - they don’t work well for clinical examination so I’ve never been able to properly but I do try a bit.
 
First pour from my 5L keg of Saison. This is the keg that I managed to drop the tip from my bottling wand into while filling. 🤦‍♂️ My worry of it spoiling the beer has been quashed as it's absolutely delish. I can taste hints of the coriander and orange zest in this one - the bottled version that I tried last week wasn't as evident for some reason. This keg won't last long! At least I'll get the bottling wand tip back soon! 😄

It looks lovely! Never mind about the nails...my Mrs has never had long nails..no good for grooming pooches!
 
More goodies brought back from Cornwall… this is St Austell’s Sayzon which is rather yummy with not too much ginger, missing that bready taste from a proper saison but good all the same.
Points if you know what I’m cooking for tea tonight 😜.
