A bonus beer from @Alastair70 a bottle of his 6.2% Chunga’s Revenge Marzen. Cheers bud! 😉

You might be able to see the beer is crystal clear and a reddish tinged dark amber colour with a healthy light tan coloured head. The head dropped to a light foam over the surface and then stayed the course.

The aroma is malty (sorry there will be a short pause while my wife really needs to talk to me about nail bars in Sevenoaks 🤷‍♂️………………….).

….OK. If you need a nail bar apparently you couldn’t do much better than Sevenoaks is the gist.

So, the aroma. Very malty, deep rich malt that I’m struggling to find a good comparison for - there is a sweetness to it like malt extract maybe?

The flavour is also very malty, it gives an impression of sweetness but isn’t in itself sweet. In fact the beer is fairly dry. The bitterness is quite mild and I expect it’s the relatively low bitterness that’s giving the impression of sweet malt. I’m not getting a lot of hop flavour but this is typical for the style and despite being over 6% there’s no clue this is a fairly strong beer from the aroma or flavour.

This is a nice clean well-brewed malty beer that I enjoyed more than I thought I might. Cheers Alastair 🍻
