Thought I'd give this another go. When I brought it last time, I was disappointed that with its retro label and bigging up of Burton Ale, it was full of American C hops (to be fair, the label does make this patently obvious :laugh8: ). However, I'm expecting them this time so a well prepared. It's not bad, actually.

Would be better with Fuggles and EKG, though. Baaa humbug. clapa

Second pint of my Theakstons. It has come on a bit better than I first thought, and I'm not sure I'd go with a beer with this low an ABV again (I prefer to stick to 4-5%). But at 30 days in the bottle, it's certainly a bright, clean, tasty pint, if not feeling particularly alcoholic. Which, I guess is exactly what it's supposed to be, so I'm chalking that down as a success! :D

More seriously, it struck me that if I had the facility to easily make, say, 50 bottles at a time, it would be a good thing to have a stock of. But I don't, so for the relatively small batches I make, probably not the best use of my efforts. Glad I did it, though.

No photos to share but I had a few cans from my latest brewdog order.

Libertine Black IPA - really really good. Was very easy drinking considering it was 7.2%. I could smell the hops with each delve into the glass, as if fresh hops had just been added. Lovely.

90 Day Bock - was OK. Nothing to write home about.

Triple Agent - could tell this was a strong 'un (8.5%), but very flavoursome and went down well. Would get this again.

Tasting the Czech pilsner that tastes like an American lager. It's like the wyeast2001 removed all traces of hop from the beer exactly like an unnamed macro does with it's beers. I will definitely not be using this yeast again.

@Hazelwood Brewery thanks for the carbonation tip at 20psi it's carbing up nicely.

Good grief, carbonation tips from me! 😳

You will need a longer beer line too as you increase pressure or you’ll have foaming issues.
