Thanks, I love how simple these recipes tend to be. Do you get any fruity from the hopstand?
😁 Yes definitely a cheaper brew that the IPA's and a nice simple brew day. I'm not sure how much the whirlpool hops give to the full profile as I haven't tried it without, but I like to have some hotside before yeast pitch without giving much to the bitterness. I'm sure most of the hoppiness comes from the dry hop. It's subtle but noticeable compared to a normal Pils.

An English Bitter. I’ve not had one for a few days so I’m enjoying it all the more.

Venturing out to another brewery dark roasted lager, not bad, a bit heavy on the roast but has a good malty backbone.

Just found out these are all gluten free and millet or buckwheat based. The dark lager was the better of the two. This one is a buckwheat Belgian

Tonight an early taste of my Guinness clone, (bottled 15th April) I almost doubled the sour wort from 650 ml to 1,200 ml this time used the Widbrew sour pitch yeast. It is getting there but the next brew I will double the sour pitch wort to 2.5 litres. I did smell and taste the sour pitch. It tasted and had the aroma of Guinness. First time I left it to chance with whatever bacteria chose to ferment the wort I had in the flask. Using the lactic acid bacteria made a huge difference, don't know why it is so expensive though.

This is the Coopers IPA that I expected to finish two days ago!

This is the newly fitted fly-screen in anticipation of the summer; having been rejected by SWMBO on the basis that it’s “garish”! I don’t care as long as it keeps the flies out of the shed!

I love those fly strips - it reminds me of being little. We used to have those ones that looked like candy stripes 😂

I've just bottled my first all grain beer - Spiced Coriander and Ginger Beer ex GH.
Supped 2 bottles before it's had chance to get capped! Dangerous too at 5%, once it's carbed and chilled - shall have to be careful.
Bottled straight from the brew bucket, a few fine bits of Coriander or Ginger carried through the little bottler. Don't know what that'll do when carbed - extra fizzy I guess!
Will be making again.
Put 5l in a mini keg ( another new ebay purchase!) with 12g dextrose so hopefully that'll be ready soon.
