It's on. Had to do summer fruits as could
Not find lemon barley. But there is always tomorrow. I paid £1 a bottle though so mines expensive. Lol

Ohh might ruin the summer taste tho mines smells amazing I don't want to change it lol definitely an idea tho I was planing just adding 55g of sugar in to 330ml clear bottle so 4g each should give it a fizz

But I'll taste it first maybe put the syrup in

I have Youngs general purpose beer and wine yeast, I'm sure that would work but I'm wondering would a champagne yeast give a sweeter cider? My missus is not convinced on my home brewing so I'd like to make something sweet for her.

I'm no genius on yeasts but you can quite effectively batch back sweeten this using canderel or similar post fermentation.
There is a yeast further up that I have bought as they say the added sweetener and cider yeast will improve (reduce) the harsh Apple taste which the basic recipe has in its standard form.

All you would do is add say (depending on how sweet add half teaspoon or more per pint once fermented before bottling.). Some have used as much as 1 and half teaspoons. The beauty is you can taste test it prior to bottling.

I was just looking at what my LHBS had in stock and spotted the Champagne Yeast. They have cider yeast but it's described for a dry cider which I don't want. I'll try canderel after fermetation when I'm about to bottle if it's not sweet enough.

Evening all. So ive just bottled loads of cider and pressed another 10lts. Done this press totally natural. Not adding anything at all!
This leaves me with 6 empty demis which i don't like haha. Going to nip down to Lidl tomorrow and get some apple juice. I already have a few cider yeast packets in the cupboard so im just guna do a simple juice and yeast TC. First time but hay whats the worst that can happen :-)

Excellent!! Report back on both!!

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] any ideas how to get a Bung out of the Demi tho [emoji85]

Probably get the bung loose by using warm water to soften it...?

Been to Lidl and bought 4lts of juice from concentrate (don't know if it works or not) and 4lts of cloudy fresh juice. Added half a sachet of wilkos yeast to each as it doesn't actually say on the packet how much to add to what amount of liquid. The cloudy fresh is starting to bubble just 1h later! The cloudy is 99p per litre and the from concentrate was 51p per litre hahaha

Get a blunt kitchen knife and push it down the gap between bung and glass, go all the way round to break the seal then lever them out a bit at a time again going round the neck.
