Mines finished now. I got a drip tray from Santa to complete the setup. (Colour coded the beer lines from the back of the taps to the keg connectors as they easy to get confused as I’ve got best part of 6ft of line to stop any foaming.

I’ve got a mate making some carbon fibre name tags that I will put magnets on and be able to stick behind the taps as writing on the door every time is a pain. But I’m dead pleased with it and it’s a great addition to the brew shed.

Hoddy - that is top quality ! I think I remember reading your updates on this in a another thread. Did you paint the whole thing in blackboard paint ?

If I had the space I’d have gone for a Keezer . I’ve read today - much easier to manage when multiple kegs.

Hmmm I would agree personally with that as you’ve got to lift a full keg up and lower it into the keezer. With my fridge I have space for 4 kegs. Every time I put a full one in I always make sure it goes to the back so the one that empties next is always at the front. And no heavy lifting as such just up and roll it in.

Blimey Hoddy, If Darth Vader had a Kegorator this would be it! ashock1

And if your looking for a kegerator parts list I found this on the MM website the other day for someone else

https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/complete-used-keg-setup/

All you need is a tap and the right length shank and connector and your away. Obvs you can just use the parts list and source it all elsewhere if you can get it cheaper

Top man !! Thanks for this !

I know how hard it is to work out the parts list for putting it all together. If I’m honest I used the premium party tap https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/premium-party-tap-line/ as the based for the lines as they are soo good at keeping foaming down.

Also make sure you get push fit fittings. For both tap ends as well as the keg connectors. You’ll be taking the thing apart many times during assembly and cleaning wth barbs you’ll have to trim bits off all the time.

Give me a month or so and I'll have Heath Robinson'd a Curry's chest freezer into a kegerator...

Ace - thanks ! Are they the John Guest fittings ? Watched a few You Tubes earlier , all seems much easier than I thought .

Do you have the one regulator ?

I read this means the same pressure across all kegs , else it’s a separate regulator for each.

How long will the beer keep in the kegs and how often do you need to clean the pipes if you only draw a few pints a week off?

Not sure on the cleaning question but I read earlier beer will keep 2-3 months if stored in a kegorator. Longer if pasteurised !

The beer in a keg that’s not been exposed to 02 will last for many many months. The only thing that would suffer is how the hops degrade.

Also because the lines are the 3/16 width (to stop fobbing) they have so little beer in them it’s all fine. And as it’s all inside then fridge it’s all kept cold so you don’t lose or waste any beer on each pour.

I flush cleaner through my lines (through a spare keg) once every 6 months and that seems to be fine.
