I presume this is the best stuff to clean my beer lines ?

Am I right in thinking this is fine using in my Corny Keg to push through the lines as long as I don't leave it sat in their too long ?

Anyone know a cheap supplier with reasonable delivery ? Everyone seems to sell only huge amounts with big delivery charges ?

I am in Warrington if anyone knows a shop that does it ?

I got mine in Makro, can't remember how much it was, but I have enough for a lifetime I suspect ;)

First time I used it in a corny and left it a touch too long I suspect, thought I had ruined the corny ( see post here ). Cleaned it, stuck more beer in it and the marks went, so my advice would just be to not leave it in too long :thumb:

Can I suggest you update that post :)

Cheers! :thumb:

Since that happened I've not used it, due to moving houses etc etc I am using two taps that connect straight to the cornies and sit in the kegerator. They just get cleaned with oxi when I am keg cleaning.

However, the brewery is now rebuilt, the bar is in place and I have dug out the font and handpull ready to put back on so there is a cleaning session on the way and I'll be back in business soon :drunk: :drink:

ah right... So its purple beer line cleaner all the way then really...

Cheers

WHEY!

got some wine on the go, when its done your more than welcome to a bottle! dont do beer yet but hopefully someone will tempt me to the dark side at this years spring thing!

Purple beer line cleaner is what we use at work, white beer line cleaner is better though as it's not diluted to add the purple reactor, but it's harder to tell when your running clean water back through. White stays white and purple turns green when dirty so for h and a reasons most places use purple. But if your still not sure you can feel the run through and if it's slimey you need to run more through. 13 is a good price for 5l, they recommend a minimum of 20 contact time and a max of 45 minutes, to maximise the life of the lines.

Hope this helps.

I've been using the clear stuff for the last couple of years. The landlord of a local pub pointed me in the direction of a nearby company that revels in the title of 'janitorial supplies'. I got 5 litres for £3.95, and don't think I've used half a litre yet :) Wonder how long it lasts?...

Rinsing is no prob - just use twice as much rinse water as cleaning solution, then dispel any uncertainties by tasting it! Wouldn't want to buy this stuff online, due to the disproportionate delivery cost, but you can't beat giving the pipes a good clearout. Oooer missus!

Cheers,
Chris

Just received my delivery through the post.

Containers had leaked :( Left with little choice but to make the whole package safe and dispose of everything safely!

Took photos... Waiting to hear about refund...

Bottles had very little protection for transport. I probably overeacted maybe but with kids around here I am taking no chances with dangerous materials.

Booker Wholesale if you can get access to one.
£5.95 for 5 litres incl VAT.
Or if you ever come over Harrogate way I can get you one in.

Seller refused me a refund. Said I should of returned the leaking containers. Despite them having "corrosive" marked all over them. Yeah because I am gong to do that aren't I. I would imagined if I had handed over known corrosive material in containers which have a leak I would of been in hot water if someone got hurt. Sigh... Bit of an impossible situation I found myself in I feel.

Apparently though the pipeline stuff doesn't contain Caustic soda which I didn't realise. So don't know what is still in their to earn the corrosive label but obviously there is something... Can't find the Coshh data sheet for it.

Anyway... Picked some more up from Bookers this morning. It wasn't leaking either :) Cheers.

I would raise a dispute with ebay, particularly as you have photographic evidence.
