Just raised it officially with ebay. The more I think about it the more unreasonable I think the seller is to expect me to return leaking corrosive material.

Reputable retailers will be happy with the photos. I bought a load of crockery and had no problems, but did note that if there were any breakages you just had to send a photo. It's a ploy by the seller to avoid refunding. The trouble with ebay is it has a lot of very dubious businesses (plus lots of excellent ones). I hope ebay sort it out for you.

I imagine both the seller and ebay will behind the policy of having to return faulty items but I am glad I am at least given it ago. Seems I have to wait 7 days now before ebay will rule on it.

Money will be refunded in the next 24-72 hours and I got a lovely letter from Ebay telling me I was bang on not returning it :)

Thanks for the encouragement to raise it with Ebay. I am very impressed with their customer service. In all these years never had an issue on Ebay and its good to see them on your side when it goes wrong!
