I dont really want to mention in here what I'd like to add as an extra entry, given the talk of unblinding though I did already mention it elsewhere here but I could do with a bit of help re what style to post it under.

We are talking a textbook style of beer, but with a non standard twist to give it a hint of another flavour, which I assume would get crucified if it was entered as the "base" beer.

Anyone who feels they can advise please feel free to PM

I was thinking of making a Dutch (white)wit bier based around one I had in Amsterdam recently. It tasted nothing like the perfumed Belgium Witt beers so I’m thinking it may have used a neutral yeast (similar I hear to The popular commercial Icelandic white ale) . However would this be down marked because of the definite but deliberate lack of yeast character?

Your beers will be scored against the BJCP guide (see my link in post #45 above).

If you choose to produce a beer that doesn’t conform to the BJCP guide and enter it in a BJCP competition you wouldn’t expect to score highly. On the other hand if your beer is really nice to people other than just yourself you might still get a good score and win best of table.

I saw a message on Facebook saying all the entries that have not yet been paid will be purged on Monday (relevant people notified).

There are 100 entries not yet paid up so some of these may open up some slots on Monday if anyone is interested.

This came around much quicker than I thought and didn't get to brew over Christmas as planned so will have to send something other than intended

My entry has ended up with a lower OGFG than expected so will have to change the category I enter as the ABV is now too high for the original category

How far out is it? If it's only slightly outside the style guidelines then I think you'll be fine as it's not like they measure the ABV to confirm it is within the specified range.
