I've been searching around the net looking to make a lager clone with ale yeast. Just about every one mentions using Pilsner extract, but these recipes are generally in the US. From what I understand it isn't the same as light or extra light DME so I would ideally need to use the right stuff. I've managed to find some liquid pilsner and there are plenty of kits available but I just want to buy the dry extract on its own.

Am I looking for the wrong thing?

Cheers

That's set my mind at rest then. It's strange as all the US recipes speak of pilsner extract and pale extract as being different. A few people mentioned that a pilsner extract is key to getting a good brew. Yup my plan is definitely to use saaz hops, if my bud lime has any success at all I'm going to try a stella type brew.

I'd love to do kronenbourg but I've not found a lot of options in that regard.

Cheers
