I'm alive. Just got back from Asda. I now know what the battle of the Somme was like. I managed to escape unscathed apart from a few bruises, but the trolley was a right off. I need a stiff drink after that onslaught and a lie down in a darkened room. But that's it, shopping done. Beware people it's hell out there.

yea ....the wife told me it was busy yesterday....

Glad to hear you made it

i have allready sent SWMBO and the sprog :thumb:

haven't been shopping together since the sprog was born just over 2 years ago, when she was on maternity leave she realised how nice it was to go and not have me trying to hurry her up/loading the trolley with ****, so i am now banned from the weekly shopping trip

i usually give her a list and sneek out for a pint whilst she is gone :)

We went to the butchers first thing for the turkey and the other bits and then a family trip to asda late morning. The aisles were a nightmare but we managed to get through the tills fairly quickly.

I've also been to M&S and Debenhams so now ready for a cup of tea, a mince pie and a snooze.

I was in Asda the other day and saw one bloke asking another if he "wanted to take it outside", so much for Good will to all men

Good job I didn't want a turkey. It was pandemonium in that isle. People stealing turkeys from trolleys. At one point I had to duck to avoid being decapitated by a frozen turkey travelling at the speed of sound. I avoided the carnage by slipping down the cheese isle.

At a certain establishment round here they have a cannon that they use to fire chickens at jet fighter canopies to QA them to see if they will survive bird strikes. The German arm of the company asked to borrow it to test some on site . . . and were worried when they had a 100% failure rate on the canopies. . . They rang to ask if our end had any issues and were told " You are thawing the chickens First!?"

Lets just pop into Tesco's she said, only need a few bits won't take long. 20 mins to get parked, an argument with a lady who claims I stole her "space", didn't even see her let along nick her space. Half hour to get through the check out, then getting out of the car park over another half hour including a gridlock where no one moved for at least 20 mins    And she wonders why I hate going to Tesco's.

Did ours after tea last night at local Tesco. In and out - no problem. Motherinlaw had her Tesco delivery this morning and half the stuff was out of stock so they had to go today as well. Didn't laugh much when father in law was telling me as his planned lazy paper reading morning was blown out of the water

We got up at 5am on Friday and were in Tescos for 5.30am  ....not a soul in sight apart from merchandisers.......everything in stock...shelves full to the hilt....got everything in one go...I'd recommend it to anyone
Swimbo went out today and was ready to kill a trolley pusher in Tesco's.....I just opened a beer she brought back and said

relax...don't worry...take it easy ...have a home brew...err shop bought brew

perhaps one now appreciates the perils of none brewing for any length of time..... let it be a lesson to you....get brewing.

I never even ventured near the beer and wine isles. That would have been suicide. The good thing about home brew is I have 200lt of wine and 50 lt of beer in stock and drinkable. But one does need food. :wha: Hence the sortie into the war torn ravages of Asda on the day before Xmas eve.

I noticed a big difference in my BIG SHOP bill this year..having all the home brew in stock and plenty of spirits in the cupboard for visitors, I haven't had to buy any alcohol this year for the festive period. ( apart from some ADVO***E for swmbo's breakfast tipple ) saved many a pound I know....
