Had a tour of the Greene King brewery weekend gone, and wasn't a bit impressed, SWMBO has more knowledge on the brewing process than the tour guide. So after having posted that I was bitterly disapointed about the tour and so called beer fest on twitter. Bearing in mind I don't follow Greene King nor did I use a Hashtag. Greene King contacted me and offered a full tour with the head brewer in compensation. Maybe not so bad after all :D Now to grill the Head brewer :lol:
 
Ask him why Abbot ale is not as good as it was in the 1970s. I still dream of drinking that fine ale again.
 
I can answer that, hop pellets and hop extract, Left in warm rooms. No fresh cool hops to be seen :(

How sad, you can tell him most of my friends would drink nothing but Abbot in those days now they would rarely touch it. Even IPA had a taste in those days not like the bland crap they now sell.
 
did i ever say how fantastic i think you are and how wonderfull we all think you are and that i can be at the brewery to meet you for this tour , i can take notes as you and the head brewer walk around :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap:
 
Just goes to show, you never know who's reading your posts, twitter, facebook. It's a result for you Muddy enjoy. :thumb:
