At the end of Johnson’s speech on Sunday night it went back to the news studio. The BBC’s health analyst said there was 19 days left in 2021, and 18 million over 18’s to jab, or roughly 1 million a day left to do. He also said the record for booster jabs in one day was 482,000, which suggests that the target will be missed.

To be honest i have never got their insistence on having targets if it takes a week or a month more so be it if we all use common sense and follow the rules we should be fine.

questionable experiment?

Source, please.

I have a feeling this will be about as close to a source as he/she will be able to get. ;)

The health department are now saying that Johnson "meant" that everybody would be offered a jab by month end, not actually jabbed. Because he hadn't actually talked to them at that stage from what I can tell. But I think yesterday was up 50% from 7 days before, so there is some scope to accelerate, they're also binning the requirement to stay for 15 minutes afterwards to help smaller surgeries etc with throughput.

True, based on what you pointed out earlier, but I had to offer the invitation, if only to point out that they can't provide a credible source.
That person's post totally reminds me of the FOX NEWS crazies. I used to go full-bore, as Northern Brewer had done, but it's easier to ask for the source, check it out and prove that that source is unreliable.
I've mentioned how deep I got into it with the RW nut jobs on FOX (pointless endeavor trying to make a dent in their insanity) but I tried for quite a long time.
Empirically, and this is a hard and fast rule: every single "fact" provided by a RWNJ has no more than about 10% truth to it but is usually entirely false. It got to where I stopped checking sources because they'd be from FB, Twitter, criminals, phonies, vloggers, etc.

When you hear a politician say "The last thing we want to do is cancel Christmas" as i just have on 5 live you can guarantee they have just been discussing it.

TBH I think we're getting to the stage where we're back to trying anything to flatten the curve in January, because all the indications are that it's going to be a pretty horrendous few weeks for health systems everywhere.
Can't cancel christmas though can we

Well, had my booster this afternoon.
Nice and easy system, apart from the 15 minute wait afterwards (couldn't really blag it, as had all my bike gear on and crash helmet with me).
One thing that has occurred to me is that I was not given any physical record that I have had it done.
With the 1st and 2nd jabs, I was given a card with date, batch number etc., but nothing this time.
I wonder if it was an oversight on their behalf, as it was their first day offering boosters, or is it the norm?
Would have been nice to have the proof - not that I'm planning on going anywhere that would require it...

Yep, it was their oversight - or at least, we were both given a new card at registration.

Neither my wife nor I were given a card with the booster dose, but I checked with our on-line medical accounts, and they are on record.

Thanks.
I was sure that they would be on my medical records - just would have liked to have had physical proof...

And your expertise in medical risk assessment is what exactly?

The US has jabbed nearly 5 million kids 5-11 and no cases of myocarditis have been reported in those 5 million.

So what risk are you talking about? Do you mean the risk of them getting myocarditis or life-long brain damage from catching Covid? Omicron is doubling every two days, which means that it's pretty much a certainty that everyone is the UK is going to get it within a few weeks unless they're a hermit. So why would you take risks with what happens when (not if) they get infected?
I did not give any expertise.
What fascinates me is the fact that everybody is begging for another jab without checking if they have natural antibodies. If his kid got covid already he will have his own, why to take a risk?
I'm not against jabs, just use common sense

Your kids will have antibodies for ages. Why would you risk their future life with this questionable experiment?
Since you are still watching this thread, what is your source, please?
You actually are giving medical advice aka expertise. "Common sense" is not eating yellow snow in a field full of barn animals.

EXCLUSIVE: Extraordinary image of raucous Christmas party thrown by Tory aides at party HQ during coronavirus restrictions last year.

Party hats, drinks, an entire buffet - while we were all banned from meeting just one other person socially indoors.

D'oh

It was same with mine no record given but my nhs app updated couple of days after

As from my own personal experience with jabs vs kids and reaction to it I just mentioned that people who had covid will have antibodies and it will be a common sense to check it before you give untested vaccine to your own kid ( source: Pfizer and BioNTech Announce Positive Topline Results From Pivotal Trial of COVID-19 Vaccine in Children 5 to 11 Years | Pfizer
"These may not be all the possible side effects of the vaccine. Serious and unexpected side effects may occur. The vaccine is still being studied in clinical trials. Call the vaccination provider or healthcare provider about bothersome side effects or side effects that do not go away."

If you guys need a source about antibodies and how it works please turn off the TV and talk to your doctor.

I'm not trying to push anybody away from vaccination, do what you want, it's your own body. Just do some research before you give it to your kids and don't trust everything what you see on the TV.
You can say whatever but you are singing your kid into involuntary trial and will have to deal with consequences if some serious side effects occur in his/her body after a year or 5.
In my personal opinion risk isn't worth it Vs 'light or mild symptoms" which the kid already had.
But again, this is my personal opinion and this is the place to share it. Yours could be difficulffrent and I don't call you troll.

EOT for me, wish you all Happy Xmas
