So as a follow up to my recent post asking about Soufflet malt on the Brouwland site I came across another very cheap malt from Belgomalt. They are selling 25kg cacks of Pilsner and Pale malt at 22€ per sack! Anybody ever used their malt? Sorry should say 26€ with vat added.

I, for one, haven't tried it, I bought my Soufflet Pilsner for a specific project, which I still haven't got round to doing. I tend to avoid continental pales because they tend to be kilned off a bit darker than the English counterparts - Château being particularly dark - and they probably use different strains of barley. No reason to suspect they're not excellent malts, but not sure they're ideal for British styes.
Why don't you try it and see how you get on?

This may sound strange but I have gone back to Rolling beers their delivery charges are better and quicker. Also with Brouwland you see a price then think good then have to add VAT . Nothing in brewing is usually needed next day but with Rolling the stuff I just ordered will be here tomorrow. I have ordered some Soufflet pale malt. You are right about the colour but I don't make too many pale beers and it is only 4.5-6.5 EBC more or less the same as Simpsons pale ale malt;

Fair comment, but when I access Brouwland, the VAT is included in the price. See below, It's a bit faint, but to the right of the price it says per unit (VAT included). I wonder if your confusing it with the discounted price: it starts off with the price for 6 and the price for one sack is €27.49.
