Any bikers among us?

I've been hankering after getting back on a bike for years now, and it's finally reached the point where it might actually happen, I'm as excited as a school kid!!

The Mrs isn't best pleased, but she may just have to suck it up - I've worked blasted hard to acheive the bonus I hope I'm getting from work, and I'm also fed up to the back teeth of commuting on the train and the ever spiralling ticket prices. So it's time to put my foot down and re-engage with bikes, which I dearly love :mrgreen:

I'm off on Sunday to go and have a gander at a potential buy - a very clean ZZR1100 - and while I know that may be stupid (realistically, once I lay eyes on it, it's almost a guaranteed sale!!), I want to know if it's worth the money being asked...

I picked up a new Triumph Tiger 1050 last November and I'm loving it to bits.
Nice 3 cylinder engine, upright seating position, nice allrounder.
Going up to Scotland this Easter, Dent in Cumbria in May, 2000 miles through Europe June, Triumph Live end of August and anything else I can fit in in between.

Sounds Like there are plenty of Bikers amongst us. :

I have it! Good god it's fast! What a lovely machine :mrgreen:

Drove it home, about 55 miles, mainly motorway. Bit of a stiff neck from the wind blast, and shoulders ache from trying to haul it backwards into the garage. Sod that, in future it's going in nose first!

Heated hand grips are a god send. 80mph in about 2c for a large part of the journey, and hands toasty warm :mrgreen:

P reg, bought 4/4/12 with just over 18k miles on the clock - lovely!!

Clear indicator covers should make turn signals a bit clearer

Uprated headlamp bulb - "sorry, didn't see you mate" will NOT be accepted!

She's so well behaved in town, yet pulls like an enraged rhino on amphetamines given the chance!

Tyre had less than 300 miles on it from new - until I added another 100 or so between yesterday and today

Sleek machine - still very well behaved in town traffic

Tank protector wasn't my idea guv

Double Bubble' screen directs the wind blast a bit higher than the original screen, but still not high enough for me! Hee hee!

I'm 6'3" and I've been riding an Aprilia ETV1000 Caponord for the last 4 years, a lot of bike for your money.

25ltr tank so a good range.

Took it to France, Belgium and Holland a couple of years ago, no drama at all.

On a similar thread I'm 6' 2" and i got the Aprilia Pegaso 650 single. It's tall, thin, light and quick off the lights. The torque and engine braking gets a little getting used-to after a Jap four, but It's great in traffic and delivers 55mpg.

Got my new toy last week.

1980 RD250DX. Took it for MOT yesterday and it went through with only 1 advisory (slight noise from front wheel bearing). So the plan is to ride it this summer and then total strip down and rebuild through the winter.
